Privacy
WaveRider has no accounts, sets no cookies and sends nothing to advertising or analytics companies. Here is everything it keeps.
Visit counts
To see how the game is used, our own server counts visits. Each time the page loads it makes up a random visit number that lives only in the open page; it is never saved on your device, so the next visit gets a new one and visits cannot be linked together or to you. With it the page sends:
- which kind of page you opened (for example “a shared track”, never which one);
- the website that sent you here, if any (only its name, like reddit.com);
- whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, which the server works out from your browser’s details and then discards;
- a signal every 30 seconds while the tab is visible, to measure how long a visit lasts;
- when you start or finish a run, or publish a track.
We do not keep your IP address or browser details. Visit records are deleted after 180 days. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, nothing is counted.
Scores
A saved score keeps the name you typed, the score and when it was set, and is shown on the leaderboard. We also use those names to see roughly how many players come back week to week. To have a score removed, email [email protected] with its link.
Uploads
A published track keeps its audio, name, look and play count for 30 days, then the audio and images are deleted. See the copyright policy for reporting a track.
In your browser
Your browser keeps your player name, your settings, the edit keys for tracks you published and a cache of analysed songs, so the game works the same next time. This stays on your device; we never read it for statistics. Clearing the site’s data removes it.
