Copyright & reporting

Anyone can upload a song to WaveRider and publish it as a track. We don’t check uploads before they go up, but we remove anything that infringes copyright or is otherwise illegal as soon as we’re told about it.

Report a track

Use the Report link on the track’s page, or email [email protected]. Include:

  • the link to the track (…/t/…);
  • why it is illegal. For copyright, name the work it copies and confirm that you own it or act for the owner;
  • your name and how to contact you;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that your report is accurate and complete.

What happens next

  • We confirm we have your report.
  • If it is clear and complete, we delete the track and its audio, normally within 48 hours, and tell you we have.
  • If we decide not to remove it, we tell you why. You can still take the matter to the courts or the competent authority.

If you uploaded the track

Publishing a track means you confirm you own the audio or have permission to share it. Uploads are anonymous, so we can’t tell you directly when one of yours is removed; its link stops working instead. If you think it was removed by mistake, email [email protected] with the link and why, and we will look at it again.

Songs from Audius

Tracks made from an Audius song stream that song from Audius; we don’t store its audio. Report the song to Audius as well, so it comes down at the source.

How long uploads stay up

Every published track and its audio are deleted automatically after 30 days.
